BAOMS welcomes BMA survey that reveals the negative effect of racism in the NHS
15 June 2022
Responding to the British Medical Association’s (BMA) survey into doctors’ experience of racism in the NHS, the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (BAOMS) says:
“BAOMS is heartened to see decisive commentary and research on the negative effect of racism in the NHS. We support Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in our speciality and have a focused action plan and increased visibility.
“BAOMS Council Member Nabeela Ahmed has the EDI portfolio on Council and is leading work around SAS grades in OMFS, a group particularly impacted by racism.
“All should feel valued and included with the ability to speak out in safety.”
