BAOMS postpones London-based 2020 ASM until June 2022

The outbreak of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic across the UK has meant that the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (BAOMS) has postponed the London 2020 Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) until June 2022.
BAOMS President Robert Bentley said: “After careful consideration we have had to postpone the BAOMS June 2020 conference, and unfortunately we now can’t host the event until June 2022.
“This is very disappointing news for us all, but we will hold the 2022 ASM at London’s Southbank Centre in the same format as we had planned for 2020. We’ll announce firm dates once the venue has confirmed. And, I very much hope you’ll be able to join us in June 2022 when I look forward to welcoming you to London’s Southbank Centre when we will back even stronger.
“In the meantime, we are hoping to hold an online event during 2020 with some presentations and free papers. If this is possible, we will publicise details in due course.
“I can also announce that BAOMS 2021 President Austen Smith is planning a two-day meeting from 15 to 16 April 2021 in Sheffield. This will support the ICOMS 2021 conference taking place in August 2021. There will be further information available later this year.
“These are very demanding times, and we wish all of you, your families and departmental teams, the fortitude and strength to face the unprecedented challenges ahead and stay well!”
Robert Bentley
